Hi mates,
I've sent an email to each member about my new idea: I want to create a compilation CD with music of many WDN members from all over the planet!
Many members asked me now about the costs, if they still have their performance rights, ... That's why I'll tell you something about the project.
I made contact with Michael Nasswetter, the boss of the new music label "nasswetter music group" from Munich/ Germany. The "nasswetter music group" is a label for world music, jazz, gospel, experimental music and so on. I talked to Mr. Nasswetter and it seems that he likes the idea about a compilation CD. Now I'm collecting some samples from WDN members and I'll send them to Mr. Nasswetter. Then Mr. Nasswetter will decide, if he wants to work together with me and the WDN or not. I hope that he wants ;)
Then he will tell us everything about costs etc. and we can decide, if we want to realize the project. So the samples, that I am collecting are only for Mr. Nasswetter.
I know the problem with the performance rights, the costs etc.... Don't worry about that, I'll talk to Mr. Nasswetter and for sure to every musician (WDN member) about that before! Before we do anything for the project, I'll talk to all WDN members who want to take part about everything. I'll collect the information who is member of a performance rights organisation and who works yet for another label. Then we will try to solve all the problems and to realize the compilation album. I won't do anything without asking the artists!
Maybe we can pay for the costs all together (all musicians who take part) and then we divide the earned money between us. Or only some of us pay for the project and the first money is only for these persons - up to the day when everyone has earned as much money as he spent in the project before. Then we could divide the other money between all artists or use it to "pimp up" the
Didgeridoo Network! I'm not sure yet ... we've got enough time to think and talk about everything ;)
If you have a good idea or questions or anything else, either you can contact me directly via wunakina[AT]googlemail.com or you can post a coment to this blog post. Hope that there are many members who help to realize the project :-)
Take care,
Philipp
